Gapping up after its earnings report for fiscal Q2 2025, with adjusted earnings of $0.67 per share and sales of $169.335 billion exceeding estimates of $0.64 and $168.569 billion, respectively. The company raised its adjusted earnings per share outlook for fiscal 2025 from $2.23-$2.37 to $2.35-$2.43, compared to estimates of $2.43. For fiscal Q3 2024, Walmart guided revenue between $164.58 billion and $166.17 billion, below analyst estimates of $167.11 billion; its earnings per share guidance of $0.51 to $0.52 for the upcoming quarter also missed estimates of $0.55.

On watch as a trio after the Financial Times reported that SoftBank has abandoned plans to produce an AI chip in partnership with Intel due to Intel's inability to meet SoftBank's requirements for volume and speed. The goal of the partnership was to produce an AI chip to compete with Nvidia. According to the report, SoftBank is now pursuing discussions with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. instead.
