In a letter released on Friday, six Senate Democrats urged President Donald Trump to reverse his decision allowing Nvidia and AMD to sell advanced AI chips to China in exchange for a 15% revenue share with the U.S. government. The lawmakers warned the deal risks undermining national security by granting China access to sensitive technology. Nvidia has denied that its chips would enhance Chinese military systems.

On watch as a group as traders assess a series of geopolitical and macroeconomic catalysts heading into the week. The FDA granted accelerated approval for the company’s obesity drug, Wegovy, to treat metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) in adults with liver fibrosis, alongside diet and exercise. The decision makes Wegovy the first GLP-1 therapy approved for MASH, expanding its use beyond diabetes and obesity into the broader metabolic disease market.
Tesla Inc (TSLA)
-0.61%
Trading marginally lower premarket after market research firm Trendforce released a report on new energy vehicle sales in Q2 2025. According to the report, China’s BYD is the top manufacturer of Battery Electric Vehicles with more than 18.3% of the global market share; Tesla is in second place with 11.7% of the market share. The report attributed Tesla’s positioning to a 14% year-over-year sales decline across multiple regions.
UnitedHealth Group Inc (UNH)
+2.37%
Trading higher premarket after closing nearly 12% higher on Friday. The stock rallied after Berkshire Hathaway, Appaloosa, and Michael Burry all disclosed bullish positions in UnitedHealth in their 13F filings for Q2 2025. As of Friday’s close, UnitedHealth is down nearly 40% so far this year amid a DOJ investigation into its Medicare billing practices, among other negative catalysts.
Chinese ADRs
+1.32%
Trading higher as a group following a strong performance during the overnight session, with the Shanghai Composite Index hitting its highest level in a decade. This recent strength in Chinese equities has been attributed in part to easing trade tensions between the US and China. The CSI 300 Index performed well on Monday, gaining 0.88%, while the tech-heavy Hang Seng Index recorded a decline of 0.37% on the session.

Approximately 23.4% of the stock’s float is sold short.
Solar Stocks
+2.54%
Continuing to trade higher as a group following a sector-wide rally on Friday. Dayforce Inc (DAY)
+26.70%
Gapping up after Bloomberg reported that Thoma Bravo is in talks to take the company private in a potential deal valued at over $9 billion. A deal could be announced in the coming weeks, though negotiations may still collapse or draw rival bids. Dayforce recently reported Q2 2025 earnings, beating EPS and sales estimates for the quarter and raising its guidance for the fiscal year.
Soligenix Inc (SNGX)
+49.28%
Gapping up after receiving Orphan Drug Designation from the FDA for the active ingredient in its treatment for Behçet’s disease. The stock has a market capitalization of $11.91 million and a float of 3.26 million shares, approximately 10.4% of which are sold short.
