The Information reported that the company has instructed suppliers including Amkor, Samsung, and Foxconn to halt production of its H20 chips made for China after Beijing ordered local firms to stop purchasing them over security concerns. The move underscores escalating tensions as Chinese regulators crack down on the U.S. chipmaker’s presence in the market. Separately, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said that the company is in talks with the U.S. government about potentially shipping a new AI chip to China, known as the B30A, which would be more advanced than the H20.

Chinese EV company Nio is particularly strong after showcasing its new ES8 SUV in over 300 showrooms across China ahead of its official launch at Nio Day 2025 in September. The large SUV is offered in six- and seven-seat versions starting at RMB 400,000 ($55,730) under the battery rental plan.
