In The News

Novo Nordisk A/S (NVO)

+7.80%

Gapping up after the FDA approved a once-daily Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide 25 mg), making it the first oral GLP-1 approved for weight management in the US. The OASIS 4 trial for the treatment showed 16.6% average weight loss with adherence. The company plans to launch the oral Wegovy in the US in early January 2026. Competitor Eli Lilly is trading marginally lower premarket on the news.

Tesla Inc (TSLA)

+0.27%

Canaccord raised its price target for the stock to $551 from $482 and reiterated a Buy rating, arguing that longer-term growth drivers are strengthening despite lower near-term delivery expectations. The firm cites accelerating EV adoption outside the US, progress in FSD and robotaxis, Musk’s aligned compensation, and optionality from robotics and energy storage as outweighing the near-term earnings reset. UBS maintained a Sell rating and $247 price target on Tesla. Separately, data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) showed that the company sold 22,801 units in Europe in November 2025, down 11.8% on a year-over-year basis.

NVIDIA Corp and Advanced Micro Devices

-0.38%

On watch as a pair after Raymond James weighed in on the companies’ revenue potential from the sale of GPUs to China. The analyst noted that AMD could add $500–$800 million in revenue and $0.10–$0.20 in non-GAAP EPS from China-compliant accelerators, while Nvidia could stands to gain $7–$12.5 billion in potential revenue and $0.15–$0.30 of 2026 EPS upside. Separately, Bloomberg reported that US authorities are investigating Singapore-based Megaspeed, Nvidia’s largest Southeast Asian chip buyer, over suspicions it may have diverted Nvidia chips to China.

NVDA, AMD

Alphabet Inc (GOOGL)

+0.01%

On Monday, the company announced that it will acquire data center and energy infrastructure firm Intersect for $4.75 billion in cash plus assumed debt. This deal strengthens Google’s ability to scale AI infrastructure and energy generation as competition with OpenAI intensifies, complementing its existing Texas data center and renewable power investments. Furthermore, the structure of this transaction is designed to keep Intersect’s business independent while accelerating the buildout of data center and power capacity.

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd (ZIM)

+8.75%

Gapping up after announcing that it has received multiple competitive proposals from strategic parties to acquire all outstanding shares, prompting its board to evaluate options that could deliver significant shareholder value. The company also rejected a separate bid from an entity owned by its CEO as undervaluing ZIM, and said it will not provide further updates until the strategic review concludes or a deal is reached.

Quantum Stocks

-1.89%

Pulling back as a group following a sector-wide rally on Monday, when D-Wave Quantum (QBTS) announced its participation in the upcoming CES Foundry event. The conference runs from January 7 to 8, 2026, and D-Wave is set to present a masterclass during the event. All of the stocks in this group have short floats of at least 10% and tend to receive ample attention from retail investors.

QBTS, QUBT, RGTI, IONQ

Reddit Inc (RDDT)

+0.84%

On watch after Needham added the stock to its “Conviction Buy” list and named it one of its top picks for 2026, as reported by CNBC. The analyst maintained its $300 price target on the stock, noting that Reddit’s “100% human content” is valuable to large language models and “optimizes trust” in its user base.

Rocket Lab Corp (RKLB)

-5.31%

Pulling back sharply after closing nearly 10% higher on Monday following the announcement of an $816 million contract from the US Space Development Agency. On Tuesday morning, Needham raised its price target for the stock from $63 to $90, seeing additional upside from roughly $1 billion in potential sales through the contract. The analyst also noted that the award more than doubles Space Systems backlog and strongly validates Rocket Lab as a defense prime.

Tivic Health Systems Inc (TIVC)

+37.33%

Gapping up on no apparent news catalyst. On December 11, the company announced its acquisition of Scorpius Holdings’ strategic manufacturing and development assets. Tivic has a market capitalization of $3.2 million and a float of 1.68 million shares.
