Unity Software Inc (U)

+9.21%

Gapping up following another post from Keith “Roaring Kitty” Gill which led to speculation that Gill has invested in the company. Gill posted a gif from a Dave Chappelle skit in which he impersonates Rick James; the skit references the Rick James song “Unity”. The stock previously rallied on a post from Gill in early December that made reference to the 2006 Time “Person of the Year” Cover; the person of the year was “You”, a possible reference to Unity’s stock ticker.

Apple Inc (AAPL)

+0.23%

The company is offering discounts of up to 500 yuan ($68.50) on iPhone 16 models in China during a rare promotional event from January 4 to 7, as reported by Reuters. The discounts aim to combat growing competition from local brands like Huawei, Vivo, and Xiaomi. While Apple's premium models have driven a significant sales boost, the discounts reflect efforts to maintain momentum in a highly competitive market.

NVIDIA Corp (NVDA)

+1.62%

The Financial Times reported that the company invested $1 billion across 50 startup funding rounds in 2024, a 15% increase from its investments in 2023. The funding targeted core AI technology companies, including the acquisition of several AI software firms. This aggressive strategy aligns with rising demand for its GPUs but has drawn scrutiny from antitrust regulators concerned about potential market exclusivity.
