Trading sharply lower premarket following its earnings report for fiscal Q2 2025. The company reported GAAP earnings of $3.23 per share, above estimates of $3.11, and sales of $69.6 billion, above estimates of $68.78 billion. Its productivity and business processes segment revenue grew by 14% year-over-year, while intelligent cloud revenue grew by 19% and Azure revenue grew by 31%. Capital expenditures for the quarter were reported at $22.6 billion. Microsoft guided Q3 2025 revenue between $67.7 billion and $68.7 billion, well below estimates of $69.78 billion.

On watch after reporting Q4 2024 earnings, with GAAP earnings of $8.02 per share and sales of $48.39 billion exceeding expectations of $6.77 and $47.03 billion, respectively. Family daily active people, ad impressions, and average price per ad all rose on a year-over-year basis, as did costs and expenses. The company’s Q1 2025 revenue guide of $39.5 billion to $41.8 billion mostly missed estimates of $41.71 billion. Meta projected $114 billion to $119 billion in total expenses for the fiscal year and reiterated its recently-announced capex guide of $60 billion to $65 billion.

The company reported adjusted earnings of $0.73 per share and sales of $25.707 billion for Q4 2024, missing estimates of $0.76 and $27.265 billion, respectively. Total production dropped by 7% on a year-over-year basis during the quarter, though deliveries rose by 2%, and automotive revenue for the fiscal year dropped by 6%. The company reported a more-than-400% increase in AI training compute. Tesla teased that 2025 will be a “seminal year” for the company and projected that the launch of FSD will begin in part of the US later this year. It also reiterated that its previously-announced new vehicles, including a hotly-anticipated more affordable model, are on track for production in H1 2025.

Trading sharply higher premarket after Meta announced plans to expand the use of custom chips developed in collaboration with Broadcom. During its earnings call, Meta CFO Susan Li revealed that Meta is deploying its Meta Training and Inference Accelerator (MTIA) chips to optimize compute costs and enhance ranking and recommendation workloads. She also revealed that broader adoption is planned for 2025. Semiconductor tickers are mostly trading higher as a group premarket after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stood by the company’s significant AI spending plans for the fiscal year.

Trading lower premarket as many of its peers in the semiconductor space make premarket gains. On Wednesday afternoon, Bloomberg reported that officials in the Trump administration are contemplating stronger curbs on Nvidia’s China sales, with a special focus on extra restrictions for the company’s H200 chips. Nvidia responded shortly after the report, saying that they are willing to cooperate with the US government with regards to AI. The company also scheduled its earnings report and conference call for Q4 2025 for Wednesday, February 26.
American Airlines Group Inc (AAL)

Trading lower premarket after a PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 operating as American Airlines Flight 5342 collided midair with a Sikorsky H-60 helicopter near Reagan National Airport (DCA). The impact caused the plane to crash into the Potomac River. Emergency crews are conducting search and rescue operations and the FAA and NTSB are investigating the incident, which was reported around 10:30 PM on January 29.

Trading marginally higher as a group in tandem with continued strength in Bitcoin, which is poised for its second straight green day. The cryptocurrency opened Thursday’s session below $104,000 and is hovering around the $105,000 level as of 7:40 AM ET. During Wednesday’s FOMC press conference, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell emphasized that U.S. banks can serve crypto clients if they properly assess and mitigate associated risks, highlighting the need for a balanced approach to financial access and risk management. Separately, Grayscale has launched its official Bitcoin Mining ETF, trading on NYSE Arca as “MNRS”.

Gapping down after its Q4 2024 earnings report. Adjusted earnings of $2.75 per share beat estimates of $2.53, but sales of $25.3 billion fell slightly below estimates of $25.419 billion. The company projected revenue of approximately $89 billion and operating margin near 10.8% for 2025, with $3.5 billion in capital expenditures planned for the fiscal year. UPS also laid out a number of strategic actions, including a restructuring of its US network for cost-saving purchases and plans to significantly reduce volume with its largest customer by the end of 2026.

Gapping down after reporting earnings for Q4 2024. The company posted adjusted earnings of $0.13 per share and sales of $490 million, above estimates of $0.11 and $477.752 million, respectively. Mobileye guided revenue between $1.69 billion and $1.81 billion for fiscal 2025, well below estimates of $1.944 billion. Intel, which acquired the company in 2017, is scheduled to report its own earnings after the bell.

The trial aims to evaluate the efficacy of Paxalisib and immunotherapy for treating women with advanced breast cancer.
