Crypto Stocks

-1.97%

Continuing to trade lower as a group amid a selloff in the crypto space, which saw Bitcoin lose the key $100,000 level once again on Tuesday. The selling, which seems to have been triggered by a higher-than-expected JOLTS job openings print, resulted in Bitcoin closing below $97,000 for the first time in five days. The cryptocurrency is trading just above $95,000 as of Wednesday morning; Ethereum, which opened just below $3,700 on Tuesday, is trading around $3,350.

NVIDIA Corp (NVDA)

+0.19%

Attempting to rebound after closing more than 6% lower on Tuesday. The stock briefly made new all-time highs on Tuesday morning before suffering its worst day since September 3. The selloff seems to have been a “sell-the-news” reaction to CEO Jensen Huang’s keynote speech at CES 2025 on Monday, January 6. Huang and CFO Collette Kress gave interviews on Tuesday following the keynote, during which they both emphasized strong demand for the company’s new Blackwell chips.

He also emphasized the need for classical computers in error correction. Martin Shkreli, known as the “Pharma Bro”, posted a short case for quantum stocks shortly after Huang’s comments.
