In The News

SK hynix Inc (SKHY)

-8.70%

Poised to open sharply lower for its second trading session in the US. The company’s South Korea-listed shares posted their biggest one-day decline in nearly 20 years as investors took profits following SK hynix’s Nasdaq debut. The AI memory chip leader raised more than $26 billion through its ADR offering after its Korean shares had more than tripled this year.

Oil and Energy Stocks

+3.21%

Trading higher as a group as renewed tensions between the US and Iran continue to escalate. Iran launched retaliatory strikes against US military bases across several Gulf states after renewed American attacks targeted Iranian air defenses, radar sites, missile, and drone capabilities near the Strait of Hormuz. The escalation has raised concerns over the future of a temporary peace agreement aimed at reopening the key shipping route and ending the conflict after months of negotiations.

Semiconductor and Memory Stocks

-3.03%

Trading sharply lower as a group amid ongoing concerns about the long-term viability of the AI trade given the stocks’ recent strength. Memory stocks like Micron, Western Digital, Sandisk, and Seagate are getting hit particularly hard premarket following a weak overnight session in South Korea, driven by a selloff in fellow memory name SK hynix.

Apple Inc (AAPL)

+0.16%

The company has sued OpenAI, as well as two former Apple employees who went on to work for OpenAI. Apple alleges that the defendants misappropriated trade secrets through former staff, recruiting, and supplier relationships to accelerate OpenAI's expansion into consumer hardware. OpenAI denied the allegations, stating it has no interest in competitors' trade secrets and remains focused on developing innovative technology.

Space Exploration Technologies Corp (SPCX)

-0.80%

CEO Elon Musk appeared to provide a timeline for the company’s plan to send data centers into space. In a tense social media exchange with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman over the weekend, Musk indicated that SpaceX intends to start flying these data centers “next year”. Separately, Bernstein released an analyst note in which it expressed that it views China as the leading competitor to SpaceX following the country’s successful booster launch last week. SpaceX’s stock is poised to open at an all-time low as of 7:25 AM ET on Monday.

Meta Platforms Inc (META)

-0.49%

The company announced that it is expanding its Richland Parish, Louisiana AI data center to 5GW of compute capacity, increasing its publicly announced investment from $10 billion to more than $50 billion. Meta is also planning over $1 billion in local infrastructure improvements. Bloomberg estimates the project's total cost could exceed $250 billion including AI chips. The facility is expected to support more than 1,000 jobs once it is operational.

Sherwin-Williams Co (SHW)

+0.59%

AkzoNobel said it has received multiple proposals from Nippon Paint to acquire its decorative paints business, valuing the unit at about $8.55 billion, after Nippon withdrew a previous joint bid with Sherwin-Williams to acquire the entire company. AkzoNobel had rejected that earlier €12.5 billion offer in May and is continuing with its planned merger with Axalta.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd (TSM)

+0.21%

On watch after sharing its sales data for June and H1 2026 ahead of its Q2 2026 earnings report on Thursday, July 16. The company is poised to post record Q2 revenue of $39.6 billion, outpacing estimates of $39.4 billion and representing 36% year-over-year growth. Rocket Lab Corp (RKLB)

-0.72%

Cantor Fitzgerald reiterated its Overweight rating and $96 price target on the stock, citing the company’s successful VICTUS HAZE mission, launch capabilities, and growing role as a vertically integrated space provider. The firm remains bullish on Rocket Lab’s diversified launch portfolio, government and commercial customer base, Iridium acquisition, and upcoming Neutron medium-lift rocket launch.

Shopify Inc (SHOP)

+2.58%

Trading higher premarket after being upgraded to Buy from Hold by Jefferies, who raised its price target to $160 from $140. The analyst attributed the upgrade to the company's strong positioning to become the infrastructure layer for agentic AI-powered commerce, which could drive higher merchant spending, retention, and long-term GMV growth. The firm also views Shopify's revamped partner commission structure as a positive long-term change that should improve merchant acquisition, encourage cross-selling, and strengthen margins despite potential near-term execution risks.

Oklo Inc (OKLO)

-1.66%

On watch after Texas Capital Securities reiterated its Buy rating and $93 price target on the stock, citing confidence in the company’s advanced nuclear technology, strong balance sheet, fuel strategy, and ability to scale deployments. The firm expects a potential positive catalyst from Oklo’s Groves reactor reaching criticality this month and maintains the company as its top pick in nuclear coverage.

Fast Track Entertainment (FTRK)

+45.88%

Fast Track has a market capitalization of $12.65 million and a float of 8.5 million shares.

Q32 Bio Inc (QTTB)

+77.33%

Gapping up after announcing positive 36-week topline results from its Phase 2a SIGNAL-AA trial of bempikibart in patients with severe alopecia areata, supporting the drug’s potential efficacy and safety profile. The company believes the data could position bempikibart as a differentiated alternative to JAK inhibitors.
