Gapping up after Reuters reported that Stripe and Advent have offered to acquire the company for $60.50 per share. This deal would value PayPal at more than $53 billion. The proposed transaction is backed by about $50 billion in committed bank financing. Stripe and Advent reportedly plan to jointly own PayPal in equal stakes rather than split up the business.

Trading higher premarket after its Q2 2026 earnings report, with net sales of 9.33 billion euros and earnings of 7.59 euros per share beating estimates of 8.85 billion and 6.9, respectively. The company’s gross margin was reported at 54%, above estimates of 52%, and the company indicated that it’s received nearly all of its required EUV orders for 2027. ASML hiked its FY 2026 sales outlook to 43 billion euros-45 billion euros, well above estimates of 39.3 billion euros, and raised its gross margin outlook for the year to 54%-56%. Its Q3 2026 projections for both metrics similarly topped estimates.

Pulling back after an impressive rally that saw the stock close more than 27% higher on its third-ever trading session as a US-listed stock. Its native listing in South Korea posted a nearly 9% gain in the overnight session, with the Kospi index in South Korea gaining more than 6% on the day.

On watch after trading with heightened volatility on Tuesday, dropping more than 40% intraday on an hours-old report suggesting that the company is considering filing for Chapter 11 protection or going private. The stock bounced off of its lows after denying the reports from EV, saying that it has sufficient liquidity into next year. Lucid noted that its focus remains on improving operations, restructuring efforts, and scaling its Gravity SUV program with support from AlixPartners.

Trading marginally higher as a group as tensions between Iran and US continue to heat back up. On Tuesday afternoon, US Central Command announced that another wave of strikes had just been carried out against Iran, focused on the country’s military assets; Commander Brad Cooper of Centcom later suggested in a social media post that civilians and commercial vessels were “intentionally” targeted. Additionally, the US military blockade of Iranian ports around the Strait of Hormuz was reinstated as of 4:00 PM ET on Tuesday.

Gapping up after its Q4 2026 earnings report, with revenue of $18.8 million representing 33% year-over-year growth. The company posted $1.4 million in GAAP net income for the quarter, above its net loss of $2.9 million in the prior year quarter. Aehr projected FY 2027 revenue between $130 million and $150 million, above estimates of $85 million. The company also announced that it received more than $8 million in new silicon carbide wafer-level burn-in orders as electric vehicle programs accelerate, including a follow-on WaferPak order from its leading SiC customer and a direct order from a top-two global automaker.

On watch a a pair after the cyberspace regulator in China announced that Apple’s on-device generative AI service, Apple Intelligence, has been approved for use on iPhones in China. The service will integrate AI capabilities from Chinese partners including Alibaba’s Qwen models, with support across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS platforms. Apple is trading marginally higher premarket, while Alibaba gapped up by more than 4% as of 7:20 AM ET.

ASML indicated that Intel has begun using its next-generation High NA EUV machine to manufacture specific layers of its Panther Lake laptop processors, marking a key step in adopting advanced chipmaking technology. The collaboration will help Intel and ASML gather production data, optimize the equipment, and improve Intel’s ability to use the high-end lithography tools for future chips.
International Business Machines Corp (IBM)

Attempting to rebound after closing more than 25% lower on Tuesday, driven by weaker-than-expected preliminary earnings for Q2 2026. IBM introduced new Power platform offerings ahead of Wednesday’s trading session, including the Power S1112 server launching July 24 with up to 69% greater energy efficiency than the Power S914. The company also unveiled Power Autonomous Operations, an AI agent-based system that IBM says can resolve capacity issues in about 3.3 minutes versus nearly 53 minutes with manual processes based on its internal testing.

Trading lower premarket following its Q2 2026 earnings report. Sales of $25.31 billion topped estimates of $25.02 billion, while adjusted earnings of $2.90 per share beat estimates of $2.86. The company guided FY 2026 sales between $100.8 billion and $101.4 billion, compared to estimates of $101.06 billion; its adjusted EPS outlook of $11.60-$11.75 exceeded estimates of $11.58.
