Markets Poised To Rebound From Recent Weakness, Fed’s Preferred Inflation Gauge Out at 8:30 AM ET!

Futures, especially those for the Nasdaq 100, are trading sharply higher as megacap tech and chip stocks try to recover from a two-day slump, while investors anticipated a key inflation report. Investors, spooked by disappointing earnings from Alphabet and Tesla, have turned to mid- and small-cap stocks amid speculation of early Federal Reserve rate cuts. The upcoming personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index, the Fed's preferred inflation measure, is expected to indicate a 0.1% monthly rise, potentially signaling further cooling in inflation and bolstering rate cut bets. This data is especially key ahead of the July FOMC meeting and rate decision, which is scheduled to be announced on July 31 at 2 PM. Market participants are also awaiting the release of the final Michigan consumer sentiment print for July at 10 AM.
