Gapping down after its Q1 2026 earnings report, with longtime CEO Shantanu Narayen announcing plans to step down once the company finds a successor. Revenue grew by 12% year-over-year to $6.4 billion, beating estimates of $6.28 billion, while adjusted earnings of $6.06 per share topped estimates of $5.86. Meta Platforms Inc (META)
-0.67%
The New York Times reported that the company has delayed the launch of its new AI model, code-named “Avocado,” until at least May. The delay reportedly follows internal testing which showed that Avocado still lags leading models from Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic in reasoning, coding, and writing. The report also says Meta has discussed potentially licensing Gemini from Google as an interim solution.
Oil and Energy Stocks
-1.03%
Pulling back as a group as traders and market participants continue to assess headlines related to ongoing tensions in the Middle East. In a Truth Social post shared early on Friday morning, US President Donald Trump asserted that the US is “totally destroying” Iran “militarily, economically, and otherwise”. Trump also noted that the US has “unparalleled firepower”, urging viewers of the post to “watch what happens”. Oil futures are currently on track to post gains on the week.

Tesla Inc (TSLA)
+0.76%
On watch amid a flurry of headlines concerning the IPO of SpaceX; Elon Musk is the CEO of both companies. On Thursday afternoon, Bloomberg reported that Tesla has received government approval to convert its previously announced $2 billion investment in xAI into a small equity stake in SpaceX. The stake is reportedly under 1% and deepens ties among Musk’s companies ahead of the planned IPO. Hours later, Bloomberg reported that the S&P is considering a change that would allow SpaceX to join the S&P 500 index in a more expeditious manner.
Ulta Beauty Inc (ULTA)
-7.48%
Gapping down after its Q4 2025 earnings report, with earnings of $8.01 per share missing estimates of $8.03. Revenue grew by 11% year-over-year to $3.9 billion, topping estimates of $3.8 billion. Comparable sales grew by 5.8% for the quarter and 5.4% for the fiscal year. Ulta projected diluted EPS between $28.05 and $28.55 for FY 2026, compared to estimates of $28.55, and guided net sales growth between 6% and 7%. Apple Inc (AAPL)
+0.30%
The company announced that it will cut Apple App Store commission fees in mainland China to 25% from 30% for in-app purchases, and to 12% from 15% for developers in its small business and mini-apps partner programs. The move is seen as a win for Chinese developers and major platforms like Tencent and ByteDance following regulatory pressure in Apple’s second-largest market.
NIO Inc (NIO)
+2.34%
Trading higher premarket after HSBC upgraded the stock to Buy from Hold and raised its price target to $6.80 from $4.80. The upgrade comes days after the EV maker reported its first quarterly net profit, supported by strong vehicle volumes and improved cost control. Nio’s deliveries surged 43% quarter-over-quarter and 71% year-over-year, while vehicle gross margin rose to 18.1%; these factors have led HSBC to expect stronger earnings visibility into early 2026.
Amazon.com Inc (AMZN)
-0.38%
Bloomberg reported that the company is planning to move its annual Amazon Prime Day sale to late June, a rare calendar shift that would place the event in the company’s second quarter instead of its usual July timing. The discount event, which drives major sales across categories like apparel and electronics during the back-to-school shopping period, also faces increasing competition from promotions by Walmart and Target Corporation.
Rubrik Inc (RBRK)
+1.26%
Trading marginally higher premarket following its Q4 2026 earnings report. Revenue grew by 46% year-over-year to $377.7 million, while adjusted earnings of $0.04 exceeded expectations of an eleven-cent-per-share loss. Subscription annual recurring revenue was reported at $1.46 billion, representing a 34% year-over-year improvement. The company guided FY 2026 revenue between $1.597 billion and $1.607 billion, above estimates of $1.58 billion; Rubrik’s adjusted EPS outlook for the same period similarly beat estimates.
