Oil and Energy Stocks

Oil Futures and Energy stocks are trading higher after a weekend "decapitation strike" targeted Iranian leadership, nuclear facilities, and military infrastructure. Iranian state media confirmed on Sunday that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in the assault. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for 20% of the world's oil. Over 150 tankers have anchored in open waters as insurance coverage was withdrawn and at least one tanker, the Skylight, was reported on fire after an attack

Palantir Technologies (PTLR)
+3.64%
The DoD has moved to blacklist Anthropic, after the AI startup refused to remove safety "guardrails" that prohibited its model, Claude, from being used for mass domestic surveillance and fully autonomous weapons. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth designated the company a "supply-chain risk to national security," an action historically reserved for foreign adversaries. This pivot has created a significant "positive move" for Palantir (PLTR), as the company’s Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) serves as the primary gateway for integrating these models into classified military networks.
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCLH)
—7.22%
Norwegian Cruise Line is significantly lower after it grew its 2025 revenue by 3.7% to $9.8 billion, delivering an Adjusted EPS of $2.11 that exceeded its annual guidance. Despite this, the company issued a cautious 2026 outlook, forecasting an Adjusted EPS of $2.38—well below the analyst consensus of $2.60 and its previous long-term target of $2.45. This lowered guidance stems from projected flat Net Yields for 2026 and a difficult first-quarter start, where capacity absorption issues in the Caribbean are expected to drive a 1.6% yield decline.
Amazon Inc (AMZN)
-2.44%
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is grappling with severe infrastructure disruptions in the Middle East as Iranian retaliatory strikes against the UAE and Bahrain have physically impacted its data centers, leading to a fire in one UAE availability zone and localized power outages across two others. While the company has not officially confirmed a direct link to the regional conflict, the timing coincides with strikes on nearby airports and ports, forcing AWS to advise customers to failover to other global regions as full recovery is expected to take several hours.
Tesla Inc. (TSLA)
-2.34%
Tesla has officially increased the price of its most affordable Cybertruck variant to $69,990 following a previously announced February 28 deadline, a strategic move that comes as the automaker shows signs of a European turnaround. While the U.S. pricing adjustment marks a shift for the entry-level model introduced just last month, February registration data reveals a significant stabilization in Europe, highlighted by a 55% surge in French sales and market share gains in Norway despite an overall decline among major competitors.
Delta Airlines (DAL)
-5.86%
Airlines are lower as a group due to the conflict in Iran while in individual news, Delta Air Lines announced on Friday, February 27, 2026, that it is exercising options for 34 additional Airbus A321neo jets, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2029. This agreement—Delta's third major aircraft announcement of the year following orders for Boeing 787s and Airbus widebodies in January—brings its total commitment for the A321neo to 189 aircraft, making it the largest fleet type in the company's history.
