Trading lower premarket after Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), a major Tesla shareholder and manager of Norway’s $2.1 trillion sovereign wealth fund, announced that it has cast a vote against Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s proposed $1 trillion pay package. NBIM attributed the decision to concerns over the package’s size, the possibility of dilution, and dependence on Musk. The decision adds pressure ahead of Tesla’s November 6 shareholder vote, as the board warns Musk could leave if the compensation plan is rejected. Additionally, sales of China-made Tesla vehicles declined by 9.9% year-over-year in October 2025.
